Maximum size: < 5 mm.
Identification:
The
body
of this animal is rust-orange decorated with white flecks. The
rhinophores
are
tipped with white and the cephalic tentacles are white with a variably
developed medial orange band. The cerata have blue patches on their
dorsal surfaces,
subapical orange rings and pale bluish-white tips.
Natural history:
The three known
animals of un. sp. #21 were found under a ledge at a highly exposed,
rocky site.
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
It's
uncertain
whether this species is a Cuthona,
a
Eubranchus or
"something
else."
It was first recorded in Hawaii from Pupukea, Oahu by Laura Blackshaw
on July 27, 2008.
