Identification:
The cerata of this species are densely frosted in white with a
transparent area on the ventral portions of their tips that exposes the
brown ceratal core. The rhinophores are smooth and, apparently, closely
spaced. They are translucent orange with small white tips.
Natural history:
The only known specimens of un. sp #3 are the two shown in the above
photo. They were found in about 0.5 m (1.5 ft) of water at an exposed
rocky site.
Distribution:
Oahu.
Taxonomic notes:
First recorded in Hawaii at Makua, Oahu by Scott Johnson on Sept. 19,
1979.
