Aeolidiopsis ransoni Pruvot-Fol, 1956

Identification:
This is a flattened, translucent-gray aeolid densely flecked with brown
and white spots.
Natural history:
Aeolidiopsis ransoni
is known from a single animal found in a moderately protected rocky
habitat. Unlike most members of its family, it feeds and
zoanthiniarians of the genus Palythoa
rather than on anemones.
Distribution:
Maui: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
First recorded in Hawaii from Napili Bay, Maui by Terry Gosliner in
April, 1994.
