Unidentified Aplysiid #1

Maximum size: 2 mm shell
length.
Identification:
The
shells of this species are flattened and plate-like
with broad, radiating white bands. They're somewhat variable in width.
Natural history:
A handful of
shells have been found in beach drift from moderately exposed to
exposed sites.
Distribution:
Maui and Midway.
Taxonomic notes:
These
tiny shells don't match the shells of other listed species
suggesting the presence of one more aplysiid in shallow Hawaiian waters
(perhaps a Petalifera or Phyllaplysia?).
