Laemodonta clausa (H & A Adams, 1854)

Maximum size: 12 mm (Kay,
1979).
Identification:
This species has a stout, brown shell with prominent spiral cords.
There are two folds inside the outer lip and three folds on the
columella.
Natural history:
Shells of Laemodonta clausa are moderately rare in beach drift. Live animals may
be found under rocks in the supraspray zone (with Melampus and Pedipes). (Kay, 1979)
Distribution:
Maui and Oahu: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
This species is listed in Kay, 1979 as Laemodonta octanfracta (Jonas, 1845).
