Nakamigawaia sp. #1

Maximum size: 4 mm.
Identification:
This
is a small flattened species with a sickle-like internal shell.
The body is cream variably flecked with purple.
Natural history:
Nakamigawaia sp.
#1 is a rare, burrowing species. It has been found in moderately
protected sand patches and Halimeda
kanaloana beds at depths of 1-12 m (3-39 ft).
Distribution:
Maui.
Taxonomic notes:

recorded in Hawaii from Black Rock, Maui by CP on Nov. 4, 1998.
