Laemodonta octanfracta (Jonas, 1845)

Maximum size: 6.4 mm (Severns, 2011).
Identification:
This
species has a stout, dark-brown shell with flattened spiral cords
separated by narrow striae. There are two folds inside the outer lip and
three folds on the
columella.
Natural history:
We haven't personally seen Laemodonta
octanfracta on Maui. However, it's been found on rocks around anchialine pools at Cape Kinau. (Severns, 2011)
Distribution: Maui.
Taxonomic notes:
The species illustrated in Kay, 1979 as Laemodonta
octanfracta is actually Laemodonta clausa. (Severns, 2011)
