Roxania
(?) calcarea
(Dall, 1908?)

Roxania(?) calcarea: shell
Maximum size:  5.8 mm shell length.

Identification:  This species has a thick, strongly inflated shell with widely spaced punctate striae.

Natural history:  Roxania(?) calcarea is known from a single shell dredged from 563 m (1847 ft).

Distribution:  Oahu.

Taxonomic notes:  The generic placement of this species is uncertain. The one shell at Bishop Museum is labeled as the type of Leucophysema calcarea (Dall) without a date. Manuel Malaquias suggested Roxania as a possibility. (pers. com.)
