They feed on a variety of green algae and are nocturnally active. Most autotomize their cerata when disturbed. At least six species are known from Hawaii in three genera (Caliphylla, Cyerce and Polybranchia). Caliphylla sp. #1 Cyerce elegans Cyerce pavonina Cyerce sp. #1 Cyerce sp. #2 Polybranchia orientalis
