Unidentified Facelinid sp. #22

Maximum size: 6-8 mm.
Identification:
The
body
of
this animal is cream, flecked with white. The
rhinophores are smooth when extended but show multiple, strongly angled
swellings when contracted. The tips of the rhinophores and cerata are
more densely flecked with white. The branches of the digestive gland in
the cerata are brown and the bases of the cerata have diffuse, gray
pigment on their anterior margins. There are orange blotches on the front
of the head and bracketing the cardiac sack.
Natural history:
Unidentified
Facelinid sp. #22 is known from two animals found at a depth of about 2 m (6 ft) on moderately exposed rubble.
Distribution: Big Island.
Taxonomic notes: It was first recorded in Hawaii
